(*@#ing Apple and Mac OS 10.5.7!!!
"We don't sell Mac OS 10.5.6 anymore, we only sell 10.5.7!"

W...T...F... I'm very close to literally taking a baseball bat and smashing my Mac Pro to pieces. Not even joking. The representative suggested I go on EBay to try to find 10.5.6; how nice of Apple to take care of customers so well after breaking my computer with their recent update. I practically have an aluminum brick sitting here but maybe in a few weeks I can find some back alley copy of the software to fix a problem Apple directly caused. What BS.

What are the chances of WoW coming out with an update that fixes the problem in the very near future?

So WoW isn't the sole issue, other applications are failing. WoW worked fine before the update, hard locks after. Others report that other applications (which I don't use) cause the same exact problem.

I doubt WoW can fix it if the patch is just bad.

It has been discussed with them but it isn't a WoW issue (see note to Greg). It is a Mac patch issue. I suspect it only targets Gen 1 Mac Pros... maybe with specific video cards... who knows. The only common ground I've seen is Gen 1 Macs.

You want me to dig up a 10.5.6 ISO? If you do an archive and install of it, there's no reason you should lose anything.

Well get this; the stored lied when I called about getting 10.5.6. They had lots of them. In fact, they do NOT have any 10.5.7 CDs so it was probably just complete laziness to actually look coupled with a big heaping of don't give a crap.

The card still hard locks when I do anything graphically intensive. I cleaned the dust out, moved it to a better air flow location etc but no dice. I can't find a utility on Mac to let me set the graphics card fan higher all the time like on Windows but I think the thing is damaged to some extent already.

Maybe it is time to go back to ATI but for some reason I remember those cards as being problematic too. Darnit, wish someone would make a reliable graphics card!
